Violence against women is a global problem. No one country, developed or under-developed, has managed to solve this life threatening dilemna. Women of every social class and educational background are subjected to intimate partner violence, assault by strangers during times of war and peace, as well as other culturally based assaults, such as female genital circumcision, that are committed for one purpose only: the absolute dominance of women.
